The episodes of this season are pretty great (not as great as the first three though). However, I will note that this was a bit weaker since the worst episodes of the seasons were a bit worse than the worst of the pre-first movie era. Still, I'd put it on SpongeBob's golden age since there were still some very strong episodes and the humor's still good. The mean spirited tone in certain episodes is a bit less here compared to later seasons too. Close to an Amazing A- had the three weak ones not held it back.

I think Squidward being forced to clean up Bikini Bottom is the one good thing about Good Neighbors. Serves him right for bullying SpongeBob and Patrick so much.
To me, Squid Wood has become way too overhated. I actually like that episode, especially when he yells out "It's called I will never play with you EVER!". I hope no one has a problem with me liking it!

Why did you like it even though it was essentially 11 minutes of SpongeBob crying over a spatula?

It wasn’t exactly 11 minutes of him crying. It was a few minutes at best. I liked it since it was entertaining. He lost his spatula and doesn’t want to replace it, but does anyway. The new spatula hates him and runs away and he decides to get his old one back. His spatula hates him since he betrayed him and Spongebob apologizes and gets his spatula back. I dealer with the crying to see a heartwarming ending so I’m fine with that.

I just tolerate stuff more instead of just hating an episode over one part. Normally if I hate something it’s multiple parts have to be bad for me to acknowledge it. In this episode the crying was necessary, though it was overused. Still liked the episode though for being entertaining since I grade the show on that. Nothing more, nothing less.

Patrick: Yeah, I guess we aren't good neighbors after all.
Squidward: NO YOU AREN'T! YOU'RE HORRIBLE NEIGHBORS!!!! [inhales again] AND STOP CALLING ME PRESIDENT!!!!!!
SpongeBob: Come on, let's go.

- SpongeBob: ['Here's Your Sunday Paper Squidward. Enjoy. Love, SpongeBob.'. Squidward steams up furiously, kicks the paper into the air then growls like a dog. Then he takes a paper off his head]

I think Season 4 is on par with Season 1 in my eyes....with a couple of bad marks. All That Glitters, Squid Wood, and The Thing.

Me too. Had it not been for the bad/mediocre episode, I would've given it an amazing. I still consider it part of the Golden Era.

Lots of people liked season 4 but I'm one of the few the puts it in the golden age with seasons 1-3.
