hi everyone.. this is my submittion to 's contest "voyage to the bottom of the sea". It is my interpretation and i think we all have fear of being trapped underwater with no escape..uhggg...anyway, don't be scared...just a picture..lol.

I actually was the cork on a lobster boat for three seasons - the water is so cold that you don't need to know how to swim.

$150 per week. Needless to say, I had other jobs at the same time (worked for a small printer as designer/cameraman/press operator, picked tobacco - this was in the 80s, did graphic design jobs on the side, just what ever to survive.

wow! would have thought way more...i did lots of things too....fish filleter/ fiberglass finisher/ sales/ hairdresser/ art gallery manager..etc...i made more money doing hair n nails than anything. it was about 3800 dollars a month.

I understand that catch: independence until something renders you unable to preform the service. For a couple years I did design work out of the house, and when there was plenty, all were happy, but when times were lean, the bank account took a big belt. Since I had two sweet babies, I thought it better to stick to the serf thing. Their road was a little more stable (though they still had a crazy, book reading, paint flinging old man. It's a wonder that they still talk to me, the social embarrassment I must have brought.)
