Description
SoarScales lay blue eggs that are surprisingly small (the smallest of any Chimarra tribe, in fact.) in clutches of one to three, with two eggs being most common. Eggs must be kept very warm otherwise they won't hatch. SoarScales hatch earlier in their development than other tribes, their eyes still shut and completely helpless. The dragonet's not yet hardened scales are blue to silver to white in color and in time, with the proper amount of warmth, these scales will harden and darken to reds, browns or grays. Any scales that remain blue or white after reaching adulthood are called "dragonet scales."

The amount of warmth the SoarScale dragonet receives is important to their fire-breathing development and is correlated to the darkening of their scales. SoarScales who are left cold will either die or grow up mostly covered in cold “dragonet scales” and with the inability to breathe fire.

Traditionally parents will brood their own clutch to keep them warm, but in recent times many eggs are left with volcano nurseries so that the parents don't have to waste time brooding. Egg brooding is still common in SoarScales who live farther from the volcanos.

Had some baby Chimarra tribes sketched out for a while, recently decided to try painting them. And man, i am really happy with how this turned out.
