WOOOOOAAAAHHHHHHHHH LILACS!! An entire league of them! Boy howdy!

So for those of you who don't know, this is the League of Extraordinary Lilacs, a group of evil (Evil? More like Chaotic Neutral) Lilacs from across the multiverse, as created by MasterPerryMartin and Doodles626 . War, Drowned, and Blood belong to Perry, and Evil and Sans belong to Doodles. Ahhh, it's been a while since I did any sprite editing. I used to do it all the time, but it's been at least a year. But when I laid my eyes on this Team of Extraordinary Dorks, I knew I just had to give this a try. It took me upwards of two weeks, but I had a lot of fun with it! I've been reminded of my old passion for this passtime. I really love the spritework in Freedom Planet, and messing around with the main character in so many different ways was an awesome experience. Perry and Doodles, I hope you like them! I had a lot of fun making them.

I shall now proceed to enlighten you on my experiences working with each of these 32-bit Lilajerks!

War Lilac: omg she's so cute, lookit her she's like a little imp i could squeeze her but she'd bite my hand off
I think it's kind of fitting that I did her first, considering that she was the easiest. I really had no idea what I was getting into when I moved on to the other four. I liked experimenting with her color palette and testing with her markings. The only thing that really gave me any trouble was her left eye, there was just something off about it. Then after like half an hour of messing with it, I recolored one pixel and it stopped looking weird. Funny how that works out sometimes.
I really like War. Like, a lot. She's like my favorite kind of bad guy, a combination of completely bonkers and seems-menacing-but-actually-isn't-that-tough-when-you-compare-her-to-bigger-bads. I also really like her recent redesign (even though we haven't actually seen it any lower than the waist yet, eh-heh), it was a lot of fun to sprite.

Drowned Lilac: she floats, right? wraiths float?
*inhales deeply* AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Drowned. Drowned, Drowned, Drowny Drown Drowned. I love you. You're my favorite. But you gave me hell. Freaking ear and feet.
Despite this, I had a lot of fun with her, and I'm quite pleased with how that ear came out if I do say so myself. Also, um, I didn't give her pupils. In fact, I didn't even try to give her pupils. I just looked at her when I was done and said "Yeah. That's good." I don't know why exactly. I guess I thought it made her look creepier. Or maybe I just have a Spooky's House of Jump Scares fixation, I dunno. I also gave her hair more of a matted look. Because. She's always wet. And it's definitely not because I was too lazy to figure out how to sprite her hair as seen on the references--
As for her character? There's just something about her that I like. Maybe it's because she's a water wraith, which is frickin cool. Maybe it's because she's cute and creepy, which is one of my favorite combinations. Maybe it's because she reminds me of Spooky's House of Jump Scares, I dunno. Whatever the reason, I like her. And she seriously needs a hug. And she's definitely not gonna get it from any of these jerkwads.

Blood Lilac: how put cleavage on 32 bit sprite how
I'll be honest, I was a bit... apprehensive about Blood when I first saw her. Why's that? Well. Let's just say that "sexy" is not my favorite adjective. But the more I read about her, the more she started to grow on me. And naturally the selling point was that she apparently has some sort of relationship with Drowned why am I like this. There's clearly more to her than just being the pretty/manipulative one, I hope we get to see more of her in the future. N-N-NOT THAT WAY--
About the sprite though, the two things that got me with her were the hair and the collar. The hair because it took me forever to get right, and the collar because it was interfering with the... *ahem* dragon boobs. She also has the fewest references to go by, with a whopping 2 pictures of her on all of DA. Yippee, her boots came out almost exactly like War's. Why did I pick that position for her feet why do I do this to myself.
Out of all of them I have to say that I'm the least pleased with how Blood came out. Something just looks off to me, hmm. Maybe I'll mess with her shading and palette some time.

Evil Lilac: WAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
EVIL IS MY SECOND FAVORITE. Okay maybe third I can't really decide between her and War BUT STILL. SHE'S GREAT. Freaking nutso brainwashed cyborg Lilac with an Amy Rose complex for Brevon, that's freaking genius.
So she's the one that I took the most creative liberties with, which is pretty obvious if you place the sprite next to the concept artwork. Doodles implied that he wasn't entirely pleased with the design (and also the original art is accompanied by a sprite of her), so I sort of just took the idea of basing her on a Mega Man X character and rolled with it. Also I lifted most of her color palette from Brevon. I quite like how the blaster came out, I think. And I wasn't sure about how her eyepiece would come out, but I think it looks pretty good. The only thing that's kind of off is the hair, ugh, I'll throw that into the suggestions bin along with Blood's shading.

Sans Lilac: it's me, walUIGI--
Dadadada, dadada dadada, dadadada, dadada dadada. MEGALOVANIAAAAAAAAAA------

SANES!! Sans is far from my favorite Undertale character, but I like Undertale and I like Freedom Planet and Sans Lilac makes me happy because of that. I think her hands are pretty cool, and I had a lot of fun putting together her jacket. I actually did that arm from scratch, I think it came out pretty good.
Um. Remember when I said that War was easiest? Yeah no, this one was easiest. She's also the closest to the original concept art for the character out of the five. I didn't see much reason to change her. Um. I also don't have much to say about her. Uh. HOTCATS!!

So yeah, that's the team! This was a nice return to sprite editing, I had a lot of fun with it. Maybe I'll do some more with the FP sprites someday. But woo, I have to say that I'm happy to be done with this now. Now I can move onto other things. Mostly also having to do with Freedom Planet because I'm trash.
