I can only presume this giant rock was hurled from the volcano at some point in its life. The photo intrigues me to this day and ended up becoming a large poster for my wall. Thanks for the feature!.

the reason why I wanted you to see it is: don't you think 'my' farallion is quite like the real one in your pic, as for structure and shape? maybe a little elongated, but I think it's almost the same!!!

the farallion in particular: starting from a simple brush stroke and then adding bevel texture shades... a light liquify and voilà!

Oh wow! I love how you set it against the perfect blue of the sky and the undisturbed sea... it's like an island in a sea of blue colour, an island in more than one sense... interesting location too. Stromboli is in Italy?

Stromboli is north of Sicily, just off the south-west coast of Italy. It was just a moment in time, I took several as we moved round the island, hence the Silhouette version, but this was the one that needed no adjustment. Every now and then you get lucky I guess 8)
