0.5 mechanical pencil on medium-weight paper.I guess I couldn't help myself. A lot of people started asking me when I was going to post more Gorillaz fan-art, so I thought; What the hell?
I drew this quite a while ago, actually, but only recently completed it. Those legs killed me. They were so long the paper wasn't long enough and his feet got cut off. That's never happened to me before. BUT it was all worth it. I guess I got a thing for the tall and skinny.
That and 2D.

Ummm... is there any possible way that you could make a tutorial or step by step showing the general shapes and such needed to draw in that style? I really love the Gorillaz style, but I just cannot comprehend the proportions.

I'm flattered, and believe me I'd love to make a tutorial, but I honestly don't think I can. I just... sketch until I make lines that fit, to be honest...

Really? Wow. I just... you capture the original Gorillaz artistic style just as beautifully as the creators. I figured you'd have some complex method to ensure you got the proportions exact, but I guess you're just awesome. I guess I'll just practice and hope that one day I can master it like you did.

Where do you find 0.5 led pencils? I can only find 0.7 led pencils with that smudgy kind of graphite. . _, Papermate... DAMN YOU

Yeah, I saw that pic too, but the truth is he doesn't really HAVE a tattoo. At least none that I could see in ROTO that were constant. My guess is that he just likes to write on himself.
