When I first read Twilight I hated Ashfur for getting in the way of Squirrelflight and Brambleclaw's relationship. Now my heart just goes out to him...I tried to pour all of his hurt, confusion and loss into this picture. I guess it ties in with the poem I wrote a while back: [link]
Don't get me wrong, I'm still a massive SquirrelxBramble fan, but you have to sympathise with Ashfur. The books didn't focus enough of what he must have been feeling, and it's stories like his that I like to study and show people, so that they don't just think in black and white.
This took a very long time as I put all I could into it, but I'm pleased with the result cB <3 It has the thinnest lineart I've ever done!!
Even if you're not a Warriors fan I'd appreciate your comments on this =] I love to hear what you guys think (though if you're going to say "omg i hate ashfur he's such a loser this pic is stupid -goes to sulk in emo corner-" no comments thank you.)

That is such a sad picture.
I believe it was very well executed with ashy looking away and squirrel looking back at him. I felt so much emotion in that picture flowing around. Anger, frustration, pity, loss, and several others. I swear i almost cried.

I feel the same way with the first sentence with hating Ashfur in the 4th and 5th book, which was Twilight, :T but now He's one of my most favorite characters (next to Hawkfrost and Scourge)
I'd totally adore Ash/Squirrel if it would've happened in the book and I probably wouldn't hate Squirrelflight if she wouldn't have lied about the kits (which is why I hate Leafpool...YOU'RE JUST AS ANNOYING AS DAISY AND MILLIE!)

No problem. Ashfur my be a ass but you still have to look at it from his point of view. Even though Brambleclaw and Squirreflight must be together, Squirrel shouldn't have lead on Ashfur
