Description
She was a young bride, married before her thirteenth year to a sea trader. He left her to trade in the far east, left her before she could bare him a child, and never returned. Many years passed, hard years that taught her how to make a living for herself, before she heard word of her husband. He was a pirate and had been hanged.

She had waited for him.

Bitterness warred with sorrow within her heart. Bitterness was almost always the victor, but on special nights, when fog rolled in off the sea and the warm winds of the south kissed her flesh, sorrow took her.

It took her, and it made her its wife.

So this one day a long while back my mom dragged me along with her somewhere and I decided to sketch instead of paying attention to anything else going on. I finally decided to scan it, and now I've colored it.

One day I will probably re-color it, because I suck at coloring and need more practice.

This took... a lot longer than it should have to come out looking so thoroughly shitty.
