Description Here's a little scene some of us have pondered: could Spidey's web-line support a corpulent Mary Jane?

So the sketches are going up tomorrow as scraps, and a shaded version will come sometime in the future. Let me know what you think, in the meantime!

And, last but not least, here's a preliminary sketch: [Hero sketch]

That should not happen to his webbing unless this is early Spider-Man. Β His webbing can hold cars and buses. Β Other than that, I love the picture.Β

It's a good thing he's got the proportional strength of a spider, otherwise he'd have the proportional shoulder-dislocation of a cheap action figure. xP

Love this pic, for the usual reasons I love your stuff: beautiful art, and a beautiful arse.

The execution of the angle and perspective of this drawing is just perfect. I also love how you positioned both Mary Jane and Spider-Man, especially with his arms.

Uh-oh, her shoe is falling off! I think the best part of this is the expression on Mary Jane's face. Good stuff.

Nice Spidey! I really like the foreshortening on his left arm. (That is, the one on the viewer's right)

It'd be cool to see you rendition of just Spider-man, as much as Mary Jane was the obvious draw of this pic.

This is AWESOME! I sure wish she looked like this in the comics! Great job! I sure hope to see MORE of her in the future, if you know what I mean (Particularly her butt, chest, thighs, stomach, etc.).

Hehehe....corpulent indeed! A great midair pose really helps this one out, and I also like this angle (being an ass man myself), but I don't think this one quite has the same sense of realistic mass many of your other drawings have and I guess I just envisioned her being more well rounded and not so bottom-heavy. I think the best bit here is her legs...wow. I'll probably like it more when you shade it. Great job!

SpratFA In reply to lovetehfat [2008-02-24 09:11:08 +0000 UTC]

You are completely right about the sense of mass. Really astute. I'm not yet sure when/how to get around to that, but if you have suggestions, let me know. I think the positions of the figures need to be altered to achieve that.

From the looks of it I don't think Spidey's web can hold her for much longer but with a beautifully rear like her's I'm sure it'll be a soft landing for both of them.

I'm very impressed about this drawing. Mary Jane has one of the sweetest asses i've ever seen in my life. Very nice indeed ^^

(btw, sorry it's taking so long on the story. Still working on it in my free time)

MexKappa [2007-08-06 13:29:48 +0000 UTC]

As far as I'm aware, Spidey's web will do whatever the plot requires/likes: it can or can't hold a villain for long, can carry or not much weight...

Great drawing and details, but as it was previously mentioned, the lack of color didn't help on identifying MJ (only when I read the comments that ocurred). But, MJ or not, it's still a good-looking miss.

Spidy has supported large vehicles with his web.

He even managed to hold up Fears in an early issue of the Transformers comic, and Gears was a LOT bigger than that.

ahha fantastic. I really like both poses, Spidey came out pretty well (are you using the movie's costume?Just a guess from the look of the mask's "eyes"...), and MJ..well it comments itself :3

PureIvel [2007-08-06 06:30:27 +0000 UTC]

That is a wonderful Spidey except I've never seen his eyes drawn quite like that. I MJ is a beautiful girl, but with the angle and no color it isn't like obviously MJ, if you didn't state it I wouldn't have been sure. Its gorgeous though.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SpratFA In reply to PureIvel [2008-02-24 09:07:08 +0000 UTC]

Is there a way to make MJ obvious? Besides red hair she's never drawn with consistency or individuality, I think.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PureIvel In reply to SpratFA [2008-02-24 15:57:37 +0000 UTC]

I guess that is fair, but their are about 3 or 4 MJ looks that one could use in a b/w picture to obviously show that the girl is MJ. The classic MJ look, or the sorta 90s on with the big hair. Anyway, I wasn't trying to criticize your skill, just say that I didn't immediately think that was MJ, its probably a combination of the size, the hair and that dress which just doesn't seem like an MJ dress to me, but thats just my mind. The only thing I'd say is MJ has kind of straight hair most of the time, and kind of a long face, those are the only half way consistent MJ features I can think of.

Wow, not only is that an awesome Spidey, but a delightfully callipygian Mary Jane! The semi-falling shoe is the true sign of a damsel in distress.
