Started out as a way to practice shine and shading techniques but eventually i decided to colour the whole thing. Over 52 layers so all i can say is I’m glad its over.

Okay so I’m not great at writing back storys for pictures, but seams as this is one of the best pieces I’ve done so far I felt it deserved one, so read on if you whish and endure if you can

Jonathan creed, like so many children in Victorian England, spent his childhood working in one of London’s many factories making clocks and locking mechanisms. That was until a boiler explosion took away his right arm.

Unemployed and out on the street, he believed he had not only lost part of his body but part of his soul. And swore to make himself whole again

Desperate, starving an alone, he was eventually taken in by a gang of thieves, who quickly noticed his knowledge of various locks as a valuable asset to their gang.

For 3 years he worked with them, helping them break even the newest and most secure locks and all he asked for in return was a cog or a pressure valve, or rubber tubing, items that could easily be nicked from industrial works and NO questions asked. Finally one dark night he was ready. Donning his new steam-powered, clockwork arm, his body and soul felt complete for the first time in what seamed like eons.

And with that, he gathered his things and disappeared into the foggy London night.
