I like the concept of Max being retarded and Bomberman being a douche with a short temper.Cuz seriously, Max looks like he's a bad ass but when it comes right down to it... He can't do shit.

Ooo.. take a look at Pommy CUTE anyway that Max is really hopelessly useless in Jetters I only use him when I need his hyper thingy I prefer blue eyes Max over red eyes Max since the latter killed Mighty and acts really horrible

I like to portray Bomberman as being short-tempered, but not really a jerk. He just has very little patience for shenanigans, and that's only because he has to deal with Pommy's crazy antics.
...Yeah, Pommy is a retard in my fanon. Though, it's implied that he actually causes trouble on purpose because he thinks it's funny.

Well, gotta give the guy some credit. I probably wouldn't have been able to beat the final boss that easily without Max in Bomberman Tournament. God damn, Brain Bomber is cheap.

Well, he DOES lay bombs around, so I try to use that my advantage. But yeah, that's about all he does. I don't know about Max on any of the other games (Tournament is the only recent game I have).

Or, you could use an emulator. I have a crappy controller on my N64 so I downloaded the rom and emulator. Works just fine c:

I've tried using an emulator, but if I use a subpar graphics card, some of the menus and such won't show up. If I use a good graphics card, some of the sound channels are missing. It's sort of a lose-lose situation, so I think I'm better off grabbing it off of my friend. :\
Then again, last time I tried emulating the thing was half a year ago, so maybe there's better plugins or something.... And I was using PJ64 at the time; I dunno if that was part of the problem or not.

Whereas white bomber has a ton of different abilities because of charaboms.

I can't even think of one game where Max was even any good. Sure, you got to play as him in one game, but...I didn't see any advantages.

He was playable in two games and you could switch between him and white bomber in the Bomberman Jetterz game.
Though all he could do in there was use the hyper plasma bomb and regular bombs while white bomber could use regular bombs and Charaboms... which like, have a ton of different abilities.
Max is totally useless in boss battles.
