Autumn dragons' Gift lets them see glimpses of past, present, or future events, though usually in vague or poetic snippets, or of unremarkable content depending on their strength and focus with the Gift. However, young Rydon accidentally developed a habit of visiting the realm of stars during their meditations, not recognizing that it wasn't what the other autumn dragons were doing. This resulted in him meeting Lyros, the King of the Heavenly Stars. Rydon may not understand Lyros' importance yet, but he was ready to be friendly to anyone, and Lyros was pleased to have such a youngster to talk to who wasn't related to his celestial duties. Rydon eventually learned to meditate "properly," but he still sneaks off to the realm of stars whenever he thinks Garafan, his teacher, won't catch him.
