And Merlin actually evolves. I tried to do the evolution with some inspiration from magical girl transformations (I'm a sucker for those). Since I was using the Hero's Opal item for this, the inbetween stage images were given opal like coloring, inspired by this gem. I love GemDat. I didn't really go in with a plan, as is shown by the different ways the colors interact.

I am sorry for being a mild nightmare to the mods with this and my other evolution.
