Description A drawing of an adoptable I hope to get from *Roxalew .

Info(If I get her!)

Name: Wisteria
Age: older child- around the maturity of a 14 year old human
Gender: Female
Personality: Wisteria is very outgoing and friendly to all of the creatures she encounters during her travels. Though she would attempt to help out anyone and considers herself a 'jack of all trades', she is generally quite clumsy and sometimes mananges to make the situation worse. Her tail, which literally has a mind of its own, is of a nearly opposite nature. Named Wriley, or Ri for short, her tail tends to take on more masculine features and has a sly, calculating nature that always gets her into more trouble. Ri is a kind of reverse conscience, tending to get Wisteria into more trouble than her pleasant disposition would normally allow and generally only talks to Wisteria.
Biography: (This is long, yipes!)
Created in a labratory, Wisteria was a failed experiment of the Arachnines. Arachnines are canines with spider-like apendages that serve as arms allowing them to perform detailed work and contruction, leading to their rise as an intelligent society(A picture of the species can be found here: [link] The dark gray spot shows a comparison of an adult Arachnine and a young Wisteria). The Arachnine civilization that Wisteria was born into was very scientific and, sadly, often experimented on its young, intentionally causing mutations for the advancement of the species. Many of their attempts turned out well, resulting in faster and stronger members, but they were greedy and desired something more, a divine form of genius that would make them superior to all other life. They began experimenting on the mind, a disasterous procedure that left many creatures permanently disabled. The majority of the sufferers did not live long, either from complications with their condition or lack of social interaction, the arachnine species being very social but also too perfectionistic for the lowly victims of failed testing. The scientists persisted in their work, though hazardous to all of the species, causing vainity amongst their peers that demanded only the best.
One day, an intern operator attempted to clean up a trial while the others were at lunch. The trial included the undertaking of growing a creature from a single living brain by submerging it in a radioactive nutrient solution while running electrical currents through it.(Note: The Arachnines were not so cruel as to kill one of their own children simply to obtain a brain. The child had died of an outbreak of fever that ran through the population a few weeks before and the scientists managed to retrieve the brain and revive some of the brain cells. It was truely tragic that the species had devoted all of its efforts to the improvement of future evolution and not to medical research that might have saved many lives.) The intern, though having good intentions, accidentally bumped into the containment unit, casuing the glass to smash and spill its contents on the floor. Realizing that he would certainly be kicked out of the research facility for such a careless mistake, he struggled to repair his wrongdoing. Sweeping away the evidence of the disaster, the intern searched through the cabinents and found another receptacle in which to place the brain and what remained of the solution. Noticing a terrible smell coming from the spill that had already partially seeped into the floor, the exasperated assistant poured a flowery air freshener into the mixture for good measure(He was certain that this would not interfere with the experiment that was likely destined to fail anyway.) and didn't realize when a drop of his blood from a cut, inflicted by the broken glass, also slid into the mix. Another thing he failed to notice was that the fall had also ruptured a portion of the brain, causing a fraction of it to split off in the coming weeks of the trial.
Over the course of several months, fewer and fewer researchers came to observe the containment unit that had long since fogged up and developed an opaque coating on the inside of the glass. They did not realize that something living was, in fact, growing within their facility! Ironically, the same intern that had first ruined the experiment returned to the room the next year to initiate the shut down of the apparent failure and collect his superior's notes, carelessly left strewn about on the power system's control pad. Once the intern had shut down the exterior power, he was astonished to behold the class of the container shaking violently. He ran to the exit in fear as the glass shattered, the shadowy cocoon releasing its creation. The intern, calling out for help, hurried up to the small creature that laid unconcious on the ground in front of him. "Could it be that this 'thing' was actually produced in a lab? Was it his mistake that caused such a fortunate outcome?" he thought to himself, gazing at the magnificent creature in front of him. Its thick coat was of a brilliant smoky blue coloration adorned with a splashing pattern that repeated along a stripe running the length of its body. It was remarkable, but wait-no, it couldn't be...the spidery arms that gave the Arachnines their skillful abilities were not correctly formed on this beast. Instead of eight flexible appendages, the animal had only three rigid spears protruding from the back of its neck. Other scientists began to arrive by this time, taking in the scope of their creation but remarking regrefully on its "lack of intelligence" merely because it would never amount to any productivity in their society, being unable to hold and manipulate objects on its own. As they attempted to remove it to another room for testing, one scientist shouted out in agony, jerking his paws away from the still silent figure on the floor. Following the path of the creature's long tail with their eyes, the scientists beheld a very different pair of eyes gazing back at them, with an attached mouth that had apparently taken out a clump of the aforementioned scientist's fur. Amazingly, the tail flopped back and forth, seemingly taking note of the surroundings. The rest of the body finally moved, giving a violent quiver and gasp before falling back into unconciousness, the tail thumping dully back onto the floor.
The small beast was then transported to another location, an underground hospital created specificly for treating the victims of experimentation. It was many months before the creature's 'true' head became concious. Until then, the tail remained in a half-awake state, warily watching the nurses that came and went each day but never giving any positive responses. The full creature had, in this period of time, been nicknamed Wisteria, being as it always smelled suspisiously of said blossoms...and reponded positively to this title when awakened. Due to all of the bizzare experiments they had seen in the past, the nurses were not often surprised, but found themselves at a loss for words when the creature suddenly began to speak. Listening to the nurses talk, its tail had related all of the knowledge it gained through the spinal cord to the central brain. Though the creature's startling ability to interpret intelligence gained indirectly could have been incredibley useful to the civilization, the scientists that returned to examine it did not understand how its creation was even possible. Wisteria was subjected to many scans but none proved conclusive, causing the scientists to allow her to depart from the hospital. One of the nurses partnered with the intern-who had eventually admitted to mistake to gain prestige but was still dismissed for destruction of property and deception-to take care of her.
For many years, Wisteria lived under the watchful eye of nurse Lyra and Liam(the former intern eventually found a job repairing clocks, something that he fortunately excelled in). Though often annoyed with one another, the two fell in love and eventually agreed to become 'married', known in their society as the "Bond of Synthium," or 'becoming one.' Anyway, Wisteria received much attention from her parents-that formally adopted her once coupled. Regretfully, they were forced to keep her cut off from the rest of their race, for she was not accepted in the circle of popularity. All of the other Arachnines regarded her as a freak, a lab rat, a monster, causing her constant seclusion. When she had reached a certain maturity, her parents allowed her to roam from the home, provided that she was careful and respectful, even to those that treated her badly. "Do not fall to their level of hatred. You can be-nay-you ARE better than them. Never allow them the pleasure of proving you are a bad creature. Continue to be yourself, your kind, loving self, so that all may know you are the true salvation of our race." Lyra used to tell her this often, to reassure her that she was loved. Wisteria always held her head high, even when her heart was broken by the cruelty of her peers. She eventually convinced her parents that she could take care of herself and wandered into the forest beyond the great city of the Arachnines.
Throughout her travels, she meets many curious critters that are neither critisizing nor fearful of her odd features, causing her to make many friends. Her good nature always wins out and helps strangers in need of assistance. To her astonishment, she finds many like her out in the woods, not of the same species, but still, outcast creatures that she has never heard of before. After she has done what she can for her newly found friends, Wisteria still leaves the places of her acceptance, to search out new lands and see the world from her own eyes, not just those of painters that left their memories of the past in the books that she enjoyed exploring when she was younger.

Though I know I may not get her(and this is a lot of work for just a chance) I enjoyed being able to create this story. After many days of deliberation, I finally came up with a story that is almost as interesting as the creature itself, although I feel that it is still missing things...but that can be added to if I get the character. I just want to say that if I get the design, I will definitly use it. I often do not have much time to color, finish, and submit drawings to Da, but that does not mean that she won't appear often in my sketches. This character is much too incredible to ignore!

To Roxalew, if you went through the trouble of reading this, thank you for your consideration! Your designs are always beautiful as well as astonishingly creative and it is very kind of you to allow others the opportunity to keep and use one of your fantastic creatures, especially for free. Though I fear of sounding beggarly, I must impliment this word: Please pick me! :3
