Offspring

The smell of blood did not take long to attract the attention of several creatures. As the sky got darker, you could here howls and screams from all around you in the darkness. There seemed to be some sort of fight going on, probably about who had the right to whatever poor creature was unfortunate enough to be bleeding in cyrii territory.

Even with the protective leather, you decide to stay put and wait. Soon the noise stopped and the grass rustled as the winner got closer. Two spots of light appeared in the grass, staring directly at you. You stared back. The stalemate lasted all night.

In the morning, the cyrii, having decided that you were a worthy opponent walked out of the grass and approached where you sat, trying not to fall asleep. He lay down beside you and began to groom himself.
