I think the marking should be called thought, since the pattern makes me thinkΒ of different things slowling coming together, like when someone thinks, and the front leg markings are kind of like the vague patterns a person in their heads when say, reading about a creature like this.

Immediately when I saw this boy the main part of the marking reminded me of Roman or Viking armor, with the small purple and yellow areas on the wings and mane reminding me of the parts of armor that have holes where there are sunspots, or of possibly the different pictures proudly shown on a shield to mark a family's history. The main part of the marking could also be like a fur coat instead of armor, in which case this still would fit because the Vikings wore a lot of fur to keep warm, since it was freezing on their conquests. c:
