I have a few questions about kalans, for the picture of Ehn, (and this guy). What do they eat? Can they use Magic?

They are omnivores, eating mostly grass and leaves. They will eat birds if they can catch them. And some kalans can use magic, but they are generally only from Ki'nat'anabi's herd.

Some kalans have the ability to speak telepathically.
And they have scaly fur, if that makes sense. XD The scales are small and thin like fur would be, but they are not pliable in the same way.

I look at the very handsome male. His colouings remind me of my dragon, Ritka. I thank Ehn, and tell him I will be back in a few days with the last part of my offering. I turn to the male, "I will defend you to the bitter end my friend, with my mind, words, encouragement, and anything else I can offer you. And I will never hold your colours against you. We are all different, it is those things that make us unique, who we are, and we need to be proud of ourselves no matter what." I turn around to say something else to the leader, but he is gone. I look at the male Kalan standing in front of me and begin to think of names as we make our way back to the shelter.
