Previous Conditions: This kalan has wandered into the Springs, after losing her honour by losing a fight within her herd. She has decided to take up her post with someone from the Springs.
She wants to be impressed. Impressed beyond anything.
Because of the rarity of kalans, this contest has no definite end point. It will run until Dec. 15th at least. If no one has impressed her enough by that date, she will remain in the Springs until someone can.
Only one entry per person. You will not get a response on your entry unless you win.

I notice the Kalan in its regal state as it lies in wait. She seems to simply be staring at all the impressive things people, humans, have laid before her in an attempt to call her their own.
I snort and walk forward, looking at her myself. I'll admit she's pretty, what with the colors of a deer and her camouflage type spots, but I scan her all the same with a sort of..defiant look.
I haven't brought her anything, and I didn't plan to. I wasn't going to try to impress her beyond reasonable doubt just for her to turn me away like the others.
I look, finally, into her eyes, and begin to speak. "You must be wondering where your gift is at. Well, I haven't got one for you. I don't plan to try to impress you just for you to snort and turn me away. Besides, I'm not the one who just lost my honor by losing a fight to someone in my own pack." I use the term pack, not herd, for my typical association with wolves and dog-like creatures, so pack seems to be the appropriate term for me.
"I will not offer you pictures or stories. I will not offer you diamonds in hopes to impress you. In fact, should you not be the one trying to impress me, after losing such a fight, and your honor right along with it? I've debated walking to you for this conversation for quite awhile, and I've decided to do it simply because I believe your inflated ego possibly needs something a little different."
I pull out my wallet to bring out pictures of my other friends, my "pets" as other humans call them, but I know them as more than that. "So, this is what I offer you." I set down the arrangement of pictures next to her.

The pictures, seeming never-ending, go for awhile, and as she finishes looking through them, I wonder what she's thinking, and I begin to speak again.
"Look at those pictures. What do you see? Perhaps you merely see pets who have fallen into the clutches of an owner. I assure you though, there's more to it than that. Each of those pictures is of a dear friend of mine, and each of my friends have their own stories. We hold a precious bond others couldn't possibly understand.."
I stop and think for a moment of my friends. "Each of those friends dates back from today to a year and a half ago when I first met Anxo, my first, and best, friend. And the ones that aren't from agencies? One of them, Fiske, dates back eight years. We've been together for a long time.."
I pause again to draw in a breath, and look back up at her from where I've been glancing at the pictures. "I will not offer you statues in your honor. I will not offer you drawings, stories, or anything of the like. Instead I offer you refuge. I offer a place to call home, and a place to meet many others who have found it satisfactory to live with me. I offer a friendship like no other you've ever known, and more importantly, should you feel it's your time to take your leave, I offer you the freedom to go when you so choose. I offer you swimming in the summer and hot chocolatey evenings in the winter, a warm fireplace and blanket to snuggle up with when you're cold. I offer you you're own room, and a bed to call your own. I offer someone to talk to when you're upset and someone to give you your privacy when you need it most. I offer to take you with me when I travel the world. I've been all around the country, and to several others as well, and I offer to take you with me to the other worlds in which I met all of my precious friends. You may come and go as you please, and know that my door, and the door that rightfully belongs to each of my friends, is always open, and so is my heart, and so are theirs. I offer to tell your tale in a sense that no one has before, to let the world know of your glory as it is in my heart and soul. In my home, you will always be an honored friend and guest. And that is what I have to offer you."

I like glow but haven't done it in ages.
Never done fire, but my sister tried it. We hit ourselves way too much with stress balls on shoes laces, so fire seems a bit for me. That and I spin at dances at anime conventions if they allow me to.
I am more into contact juggling than poi now.
