A small lepus pushes his way out of the grasses and ignores you. He hops over to the raft that you came to the island in and sniffs it warily. You're not sure how he got to the island in the first place, but as he jumps on the raft and just sits there, it becomes clear that he wants to get back to the mainland. He looks over at you, and you realize that he'd waiting for you to come with him.

I look at him with a smile and climb into the boat, pushing it off its mooring and onto the water. I grab the paddle and begin rowing back the way I came. The lepus swishes his tail, watching the small waves break on the side of the raft and chirps as the water splashes his nose. He then darts back me and rubs his face on my jacket.
As we continue our trek I think up a name and by the time we arrive back at the Shelter I have settled on one.
