December fifth is also know as, "Saint Nicholas Eve" as in the night before "Saint Nicholas Day," which includes church services (especially in Orthadox churches) Β for the gift giver, and patron saint of sailors. As for the fifth there is a large feast on this day in many countries and some traditions have Saint Nicholas coming along with the Krampus either for the saint to reward good children or for the Krampus to give the naughty children coal or even take them back to his cave!
