I am trying something new. I wanted to try making a picture only using one layer. I think this came out better than I expected. I've been dying to draw Kate and I like how this came out. I'm probably going to experiment with this style some more but I already started a picture with Lisette (Trio) and I did it with the usual sketch and colors on different layers and I can't change it without starting the base sketch over. Merging would be a bad idea.ΒRelated content

Oh, only one layer? Turned out pretty well! Reminds me of traditional art, you don't have layers there too ^^
Ah, Kate, the reminder of AWL. I had some troubles with the games, but I think I made my piece with it now.

Yeah he is always down in the dumps so I always try and cheer him up and be his friend. I feel sorry for Kate that he is never around because of work and in HMDS, Samantha ran off and never appears in the game so Kate spends most of the time with no parent home. Grant says he feels most relaxed at home but he still seems stressed out all the time. If he was one of the bachelors (he'd fit in since the rest of the bachelors are older) and I could marry him and adopt Kate I would so they could have a good home-life. Grant could relax on the farm and enjoy life with his daughter. Then we could have our own kid together and Kate would be a big sister.Β

In HM DS some characters were suddenly gone... I heard the DS played around 100 years after AWL and your farmer there is a descendant of Mark from AWL. I wonder if it is true? But then, why look most of the villagers the same?
It would be so cool to be able to marry the single parents! But sadly, this will never happen...

Yeah, the game is supposed to be 100 yr later (at least it says that on Fogu) but that makes no sense at all! I connected my copy of FoMT (my sister mainly plays) and not too far from Nina and Galen's home is a pretty big boulder. When I click on it, it says "Here lies the Great Farm King _____" and it has my sister's character's name. That is pretty confusing because mineral town folks come into HMDS all the time. I can even court the ladies, so how can the protagonist of FoMT be dead after 100 years but if his wife comes to stay at the inn in the Valley every weekend? Plus on Fogu it says that Romana collects paintings from Jeff who, "lived in Mineral Town ages ago" But anyone from Mineral Town who show up are the same age (or at least appear to be) as they were in FoMT.Β
The characters are all the same as they were in AWL. I could see Pete being the descendant of Mark (did he marry Celia? Because that's the only kid he resembles). It's really too bad that you can't court one of the single parents. The extra events with the child would be interesting.Β

Wow, I didn't even know that with the connection. Probably because in the PAL version the connection doesn't work.... they did cut out so many things and still there are plenty of glitches.

Yeah the game is pretty buggy. But, one of the bugs was that if you hire the fishing sprite team to work at the ocean during winter then you can get 1 billion G! I got it twice (but 1 billion is as much money you can have) and spent 9,000,000G on an island then bought some coops and barns, got a maker shed and mushroom shed made. I was mining and passed out and lost half of it and now I have around 25 million G (after going on additional spending sprees). I read that in DS cute they got rid of this bug. I'm just happy b/c money was something I had trouble with in the game-not anymore!

Actually, I hated that bug. I want to have a challenge. After I got the maximum G I spent some on drinks for the sprites, then I made stables out of Gold Wood and bought gold wood with the rest. I felt so glad after my account was normal again.

I'm having enough challenge trying to unlock enough sprites to marry. I just need a few more and then I just need to trigger Celia's yellow heart event (She's already at red heart though!) then I can marry. But the event won't trigger

It can be that certain events only trigger at year 4 or later. I know that in DS I married really late. The sprites are a hassle too. Get the casino ones, thesre are easy, than focus on getting the ones you get for farm work (like brushing animals). If you do the fishing ones, you can just hire the team and catch the last fish yourself. You can use the teams a lot for unlocking sprites.
Gamefaqs had a pretty great FAQ about unlocking sprites, that I used.Β

When I use the sprite teams they never do the job! Do I need to befriend them? I hired the fishing team but got no fish. They were sleeping on the job. When I hired the watering team (b/c I have sooo much to water) they were sleeping and one was playing the flute.

It also says there, that the team leader should be there to get them to work efficient. Maybe the teams didn't have their leader yet? Mine are working fine and I think the leaders are already there.Β

No problem. I used this guide back in 2009 when I actively played Harvest Moon DS. Some of the sprites are a real hassle. Go for the easy ones first.Β
