Two Deaths

Slit your throat
And hear the gargle.
That awful but beautiful note.
As you collapse onto the marble.

The red blood spreading
All across the floor
Yourself dreading
As it flows through the door.

Now your heart, the core
The soft, empty organ.
It never becomes a bore
It’s tasty, but soon all gone.

Take my own life
I desire the end,
With the edge of a knife,
I turn that final bend.

Slowly at first,
But the cut grows
I feel so cursed,
And now I know.

It’s too late to stop
But why would I wanna?
My body begins to flop
I’m just another commoner.
