We’ve All Been There

I wonder sometimes
Why people,
A lot of people,
Are brought to self-harm?

Then I look at my own life
My own experiences
My own feelings
And I realise their what made me do it.

Made me put blade to skin
Made me break the protective layer of my body.
Begin to drain the life force from myself.
Different events leading to the same conclusion.

I don’t know anymore though
Don’t know whether to cut or to not.
Don’t know what’s beyond this world.
We all don’t, until we get there.

I’d say to you;
“Don’t do it, live life to the full.”
But that’s not so easy,
And I’m not so optimistic.
