Spoilers of portal 2, look at your own risk...this was inspired by the ending when I notice you can look up at him before the floor gave away, I actually talk about it and show it here [link]
I also gave a alternate ending because its funny
its Sappy but cute and shows how many feel about this part...
Wheatley becomes your friend in the game, sure he starts out with just being nice so you may help him escaped with in return you escape as well, but he must have seen you as a friend or why bother coming to save you from Glados, why not leave you behind with Glados and get out on your own?
but yeah, you feel heart broken then he becomes evil with power, so you try to place Glados in control again so you can bring him back to this world.
then he gets stuck in space, as you are set free to die of exposers in a HUGE wheat field in the mild of no where :I
Great story though and Awesome Game, hope they make a Portal 3 and have Wheatley return ^^

Chell stepped back as the potato was punched into the elevator with her.
“Who’s the moron now?” he kept hitting the elevator.
She tried to reach for the walls as the elevator fell halfway into the hole.
“Could a moron-”
“Wheatley!” she screamed, scared.
He paused, opening in surprise. “So you can talk?” he still sounded mad. “Anything else you’ve been lying to me about that I should know?”
She stepped closer, reaching a hand through the gap up to him but she couldn’t quite reach him. “Don’t listen to her,” she pleaded. “You did do this, it was your plan and it worked.”
“I know that.”
“So do I!”
He stared at her, something about her tears, her desperately needing him to listen to her got through his anger. “Wh-What’s happening?” he looked around surprised.
She smiled at seeing him snap back to normal.
He looked down at her, as scared as her. “Something’s in my head.”
“I’ll help you,” she lifted her arm as high as she could.
He lowered, bringing his head toward her reaching fingers.
They smiled at each other for the brief second when they were about to touch before they heard a deep creaking sound. Her eyes and his optic widened in fear.
“No!” he yelled as her hand was jerked away. He watched her terrified face between the gap disappear as the elevator dropped.

Now that I've seen the story of Portal I see Wheatley is really a tragic character, poor fella. And you've got to admit for all his mistakes he had some genuinely good ideas despite being an "Intelligence dampening core"

its not enough space for you to fit through, plus you wouldn't have the time to. sense the floor gives away and there's is shatter glass everywhere, I can see you trying to crawl though but then the floor gives away and you slice you stomach open on the glass. even right there where you are putting your hand though, could cause you to slit your wrist on the glass once the floor gives away.
