Description
a second and final configuration for the POC hiss treads on a Hiss 2 frame. I raised and widened the treads so that they would fit better than before. They are slightly tilted because the fit better that way... and if you look at the original hiss2 it's treads are at a slight angle as well.the cage at the top was added from another joe vehicle.
the entire vehicle was repainted in a black deco and then decals from the POC tank were applied.

I like the staggered fitment idea, can the tracks lean in instead of out? I can see that thing hanging some awesome turns.

with some heavy modification and a better bottom the tracks could probably be re-arranged. I know that in the real world the angle of the tracks would be better performance wise if they were wider at the bottom...
Of course, like I've said time and time again other places, not much about the majority of Gi-Joe or Cobra vehicles make much sense in the real world!
The main reason for the resulting positioning of the treads was litterally just trying to get it all to FIT. When your kit-bashing two completely different vehicle's parts that were never supposed to go together you kind of have to force it at times. I actually had to cut off a section from underneath the HISS2 to get the POC treads on this way... if you look back at a few of my first attempts you can see when I had the treads on completely vertical the tank just looked out-of-whack, it was too tall and it actually was top-front heavy and had a tendency to fall forward....

Ya I know what you mean about the Joe and Cobra vehicles not making a lot of sense, I'm working on drawings of the Cobra Bugg, Stellar Stiletto and Hurricane now and they definitely look more cool than functional.
Your customs are really amazing, I wouldn't know where to begin to even try to cut off a section of a vehicle.

eh, I've destroyed a few good toys by not planning the process out and just jumping into it. You have to be really carefull when your hacking up the only version of something your using... which is one of the reasons I've not made another hiss tank custom. The parts from original vintage tanks are too expensive to screw up!
