DISCLAIMER: This image has NOTHING to do with MLP:FIM. Unicorn/Pegasus combinations have pre-dated the show for as long as the mythologies have existed. The name he took as a combination from RapiDASH and Soaring = flying. I understand the similarities but at the time of making it we had no knowledge that it collided with themes in MLP. If it were really about MLP, the picture would actually be of MLP ponies. This is common sense guys.

Facebook commission, client's design/ idea of what a potential third evolution for the Ponyta/ Rapidash chain might look like which he named Soarindash. The entire thing was really one big learning experience, never really painted any of these elements before. A lot of things didn't turn out the way I wanted but had to wrap it up or it'd take all year.

(DISCLAIMER) This is a concept idea for a pokemon that will not be made. It is entirely fictional.

Description: All Ponyta carry a dormant gene from birth that awakens when they are knocked out by an ice-type attack as a fully grown Rapidash. This gene awakens and revives the body of the fallen Rapidash and evolves it into an Alicorn called Soarindash. This is a new, accidental discovery for the Ponyta evolution chain. It has been suggested that the gene is part of the legacy of an ancient Rapidash who died while protecting its herd from a vicious blizzard. It has also been suggested that the Phoenix pokemon Ho-oh took pity on the unicorn that sacrificed itself and resurrected it with Sacred Fire as a Soarindash, to protect other pokemon from similarly brutal weather conditions.

Soarindash have a similar makeup and build to regular Rapidash, but they are much larger and also sport a pair of flaming wings from the shoulders. Their mane, tail and wings are constantly ablaze. The tips of the flames glow a bright blue, however it is theorised that the “original” Soarindash was enveloped in completely blue flame. Their flame burns (at will) hotter than any other regular fire-type pokemon; for this reason it is impossible to get wet when it wishes, as any water coming into contact with it instantly evaporates. This naturally gives it a unique advantage against water and ice-type attacks. It appears to be slightly stronger during the daytime, suggesting some form of solar power absorption.

While much faster and more powerful than its previous form, Soarindash is worn out after less time, due to the enormous energy output required for its blistering speed and insanely hot flames. It cannot fight at full strength for long (think of the move Overheat); for this reason, it only amps itself up in dire situations (such as when it or any member of its herd is in grave danger) and is a naturally non-violent pokemon."
