Description A panel from the 1987 Superman comic strip The Name of the Game. Becoming a superfat Superman is one of my fondest fantasies and I love the sheer size of the character here. He's almost as fat a Superman as I would want to be!

Hey, have you seen the comic of Two Ton Superman?

Sure have! A shame that it doesn't live up to the title (he's not even half a ton!) but the cover is something pretty special. Okay, so as always the scene doesn't appear in the story but it's certainly fired my imagination.

Yes, I noticed that scale, but really he only looks to be about 400 pounds or so. Must just have really dense bones or something.

2 tons works out at about 2200 pounds or so; I'd love for someone to redraw this story with him *really* weighing 2 tons. That'd be the greatest thing ever.

That's most likely it. And you got to take into account that Kryptonians get their power from the yellow sun, so it might have something to do with him looking lighter, or perhaps the guy who made the comic was going for deceiving appearances. Like for example; Kitana from MK is over 10,000 years old but looks like she's in her twenties.

I thought 2000 pounds equaled a ton,

Or maybe whoever drew that strip in 1969 just drew the fattest person they could think of, little imagining that 50 years later there would be a sizable percentage of the population who would be so fat that they'd dwarf this 'two-ton' Superman.

And you're probably right, at two tons he'd be nearer 4000 pounds, or roughly 10 times the size he is on that cover. Lucky guy...
