Aww you really captured the feels in this one. I don't normally favorite redraws but, i'll make an exception.
Man so this answers where all the wild gems come from, and why Amethyst is so wild herself. By the shape of those drilling platforms in the show, i'd guess that homeworld gems move through the cosmos like viruses. Sucking the life out of worlds they encounter to reproduce.

Perhaps at one point they only used uninhabited worlds as raw materials, but over time the demand for new warriors became so great that the higher ups decided that non-gem life forms were not a priority.
Maybe that's why Rose and the others rebelled.
