A tall and lanky Chimereon with a loose smile and lidded eyes, Cwtch (pronounced "cootch," with the "oo" sounding the same as "good") is a kind and peaceful Chimereon with the odd ability to elongate parts of his body--as if he wasn't tall enough already at a generous 7'8". This is all the better to hug others, often wrapping them up threefold in a tight, fuzzy squeeze of an embrace. Cwtch's goal in life is to bring others happiness and calm, which he seems to instill in others simply by touching them and willing it. It only works if the other is willing to be calmed, however, and frankly, Cwtch is the polar opposite of a fighter. He's a big softie in every sense of the word, and loves making friends with others. Sleeping near him or against him seems to encourage good dreams, and he often likes to give smaller folk rides on his back.

Cwtch himself doesn't have a home. He often wanders from place to place, occasionally with a traveling companion , meeting people wherever he goes. Cwtch's memory seems to be unusually good, able to remember all sorts of names and faces from folk that he's met on his travels. He values safety above all else, and isn't terribly fond of dangerous adventures, once he knows they're dangerous. It's the knowing that's the trouble--he's not particularly security conscious, and seems to "go with the flow" as much as possible, until strong feelings present themselves.

The star on his chest glows when he experiences very strong emotions--bright and shimmering for joy, flickering and dull for sadness, etc. The rest of the stars on his body glow faintly in the dark on their own. While certainly a pacifist, and rather dense when it comes to recognizing ill-intent, Cwtch is fiercely protective of the small and weak, to a rather frightening point. He doesn't mean to, really, but he can do quite a bit of damage with those claws...

Cwtch's name comes from a Welsh word without a direct English translation--but I feel this blog post explains the meaning of it perfectly.
