Description
Spoilers for Dwarf Noble origin in "Dragon Age Origins".Attempt One
Attempt Four
Attempt Six
Crossposted to AO3
I owe a debt to Aimo, whose awesome Lady Aeducan comics made the character look like fun to play (though mine isn't much like hers) and whose Dragon Age Meme helped me figure out how to draw Gorim so you could see his expression
Transcript:
Panel 1:
Lady Aeducan: I have a boyfriend? Sweet!
Gorim: Greetings my Lady.
Panel 2:
Aeducan: You know what, Gorim? You’re pretty cool. I’m going to be genuinely sad when you inevitably die a tragic, pointless death.
Gorim: Thankyou, my Lady.
Panel 3:
Aeducan (in prison): Wait, Gorim, you’re still alive?
Gorim: I am as surprised as you, my lady. When you are finished escaping certain doom I will be waiting for you in Denerim.
Panel 4: Later in Denerim...
Lady Aeducan: I'LL KILL YOU YOU CHEATING BASTARD
Sten: and how am I supposed to get new armour now?
Alistair: Should we...do something?
Morrigan: Go for his knees!

Yeah the dialogue options were shamefully limited, I needed a Mass Effect style renegade "punch him in the face" interrupt.

Ah, he's stuck being a merchant, she gets to be Hero of Fereldan and find true love with a King/Bard/Assassin/etc, it's not all bad

I felt the same way! I fell in love with Gorim and as soon as I broke out I went straight to Denerim (well, after a pit stop at Ostagar and Lothering) and find he got married because of a busted leg?! Thanks for waiting on me my 'forever loyal' second. >.>
...
Oh, Gorim, I can't stay mad at you.
But I avoid him in Denerim so I don't have to hear him pitching his father-in-laws goods like some Medieval Billy Mayes.

Yeah, once I'd done the Dwarf Noble Origin I went to other merchants on all my future playthroughs

yeah, but guilt makes for the most generous merchant in the game. I actually could afford to buy the best equipment. Guilt is effective!

I only spoke to him again to buy the dwarven axe I used as a reference for the comic, since I liked the idea of him being chased with his own axe

Argh, I could not believe he dumped and humiliated Fem!Aeducan in the middle of the marketplace like that! Grr.
This was right after we'd visited Alistair's insane bitch sister, so I imagined that the two of us took off for the tavern and spent the next hour sobbing on each other's shoulders about how nobody loved us.
I also couldn't believe Gorim had the gall to show up at the end, but fortunately Lady Aeducan had moved on by then and was able to handle it gracefully.

I imagine her commiserating with my other dumped characters from the previous failed attempts at romance
I haven't finished the game with my Aeducan, but I read that he comes back and was thinking "Too little too late, buddy!"

It is, and we are!
Though my human and elf characters would like to point out that they had a pretty hard time of things too
