So I finally got some Merida cosplay pictures up after having finished it over 3 months ago. But I'm glad we got to do it today. It wasn't too cold and there was a nice overcast.
And yes, I totally put Toothless in there...DEAL WITH IT
About the Costume:
Everything was made and worn by me. The bow was carved from a stick my younger brother brought home one day and I extended the ends a bit with cardboard, wire, paper, duct tape and a whole lot of hot glue. Of course I covered it all with leather so you can't see it, but it's there. The arrows were made in the same way. I just took some sticks from my backyard, shaved them and added feathers. Only one has a tip and that's the one I use for shooting pictures. The quiver was made from cardboard and leather, and I bought the belt from the thrift store and tied it so it would hang slanted on my hips. Only the collar from the dress was cut from a pattern since I didn't know how that sort of collar would look on a pattern, then I free-handed everything else. The wig was bought online, I only brushed out a few of the curls to make it look a bit more poofy (Unfortunately the poofiness fell after a few pictures and it didn't even matter anymore.) The shoes were also bought from the thrift store.
Overall, probably my best cosplay so far, though I hope to do more in the future.

Very nice! Not sure if you digitally added in Toothless but I feel like the shadow should be more distorted, like, the lines of the silhoulette shouldn't be that streamlined? ALSO LIKE HOW YOU STYLED MERIDA'S HAIR WIG THINGY :{D That's how I totally imagined her hair would be like as well when she gets older :>

Yeah, he was added digitally. I see what you mean, he should be more distorted, especially if he's going at a high speed.
I'm glad you like the hair, the style in this particular photo was an accident to be honest...I was just trying to pull it out of my eyes and it somehow ended up looking nice
