You really nail the 'essence' of the landscape. I don't feel like your paintings are too busy or have nothing to focus on....they just perfectly depict calm and timeless moments when everything in the world is in focus all at once, over-detailed, over-saturated and alive

Thank you! You know, sometimes people will tell me that my paintings are too busy, or there's nothing to focus on, like it's a flaw but that's what I'm aiming for. Busy, but it's supposed to be harmonious.

It feels very joyful and soothing.. usually things that are 'too busy' make me feel stressed out or overwhelmed, and your work doesn't invoke that at all. I say pah to the critics!Β Β

Thank you! It's actually the Nanaimo River estuary all dazzled up. The Moonside level in Earthbound was also an inspiration for this to a lesser degree.
