EDIT: Fixed up his ribcage a little, and brought up his hipbone a little 'cause his leg looked too short. Still not perfect, but close enough for me. He still looks a little too beefy, but we can probably just chalk that up to fur fluff or something. I'll tinker with it when I do the final lineart later.Alright dA. This one needs help! Been slaving away over this one for the better part of the evening because I want to get at least the sketches done before moving on to a completely separate project (I'll come back to this one once that one is done). I like a lot about this one, but I just couldn't get a few things right, and I'd like some pointers.
First of all, those hands; I hate them. They're a trainwreck, and a perfect example of how bad at hands I am. Any ideas on how I can improve them (apart from practice, practice, practice)? There's also just something off about Zee's ribcage, specifically in the chest region.
I tried to make Zeke look a little more hungry than usual, but I don't think portrayed that as well as I could have. After getting this teknicolortiger.deviantart.com... commissioned from the lovely ~TeknicolorTiger I've been wanting to give him a more desperate, starved look, but I'm set in my ways and the process has been slow...
Blah blah blah. Anyways, how I do? Pointers? Questions? Concerns? Let me have it, dA.
While you mull that over, I'm off to get started on yet another project. Next time you see me, we'll be taking a roadtrip to the far away lands of Skyrim!

So I herd u workin on a werewuff and came to see. :3 You're definitely getting better, but I agree with some of the others - his neck is way too long. His hands actually look fine to me. But, as you said, in your description, there's something off about his chest. For one thing, it's too small, too short. His shoulders need to be wider, farther apart. It also needs to be longer. As for giving him that emaciated look, I'd recommend looking up victims of anorexia or - if you're feeling brave - the Holocaust. Most of the "high points" on his bones are going to protrude a bit and his stomach will be sunken. His ribs will be prominent, as I see you've started, though his arm is in the way so I'm not sure how much you'll see. His hip bones will also be protruding a bit as well as his knees, or at least they will appear to. But, I think that's only if you really want to push the scrawniness. You might want him to have a bit of meat and/or fur on him and that will round out his features a bit more. Another thing I might suggest is the face. He doesn't have much in the way of a jaw or jowl. If you want, I could do a redline for you. :3
But yeah, overall I'd say your anatomy is improving quite a bit. And I really don't think the hands look half as bad as you describe. Someone recommend Burne Hogarth's books and I have to agree. His Dynamic Figure Drawing has really helped me in a few pinches. ^^

A redline would be awesome. I normally don't ask for them, but I'm having a bit of trouble with this one. Thank you so much for all the feedback. I really appreciate it!
It should also be mentioned that I haven't worked on this all summer, but now you've made me want to pick it back up again!

Read up on Burne Hogarth's stuff. You won't be disappointed.

I have an idea! If you don't like the way his hands look, have him wear oven mitts or boxing gloves.

Lupus Anorexicus! The hands don't look half bad, though in my mind, werewolves have kind of clumsy-looking hands. I can't rightly say what's wrong with the rib cage myself, but it does look a little malformed. Far and away the most jarring thing is the neck. It's looks a bit too long. Otherwise? Looks fine to me. I like the look of his right leg.

I have always been really bad at figuring the proper length when it comes to necks. You're definitely not the first to notice either. XD Most of my characters suffer from chronic giraffe neck. I'm definitely going to have to fix that up when I ink the sketch. Thank you for the feedback!

You're welcome!
Of course, writing up the character sheet is a fair amount of work too...

Hands look fine to me dude . The face ,in comparison to the neck, needs to be a little bigger i think . Doing great work !

Either that or the neck needs to be shorter...
Thanks!
