Growing up as the daughter of a rich rancher instilled Jaqueline 'Smiling Jacks' Kensington with two main traits: A love of animals, and a complete and utter disregard for the cares of other people. Entitled, spoilt, manipulative and conniving, Jacks's life was as carefree as her family's competitors' weren't. No-one crossed the Kensington Cattle Company. They got what they wanted, one way or another, and those who stood in their way moved, or else were moved... Six feet under the manure pits.

All that changed when Sheriff Carolina Stanton came charging into their lives with her posse, having amassed testimony, documents and most importantly, inspired witnesses to speak up against the Kensingtons. Their ranch and all holdings were seized, shut down and distributed back to any original owners. Jacks's mother and most of her extended family were arrested, and their vast herds of livestock were auctioned off or given as restitution to those the cattle company had wronged.

Within a month, what little of the Kensington family that remained outside of jail was destitute. Jacks was sent to live with a distant uncle on his decrepit-but-at-least-legally-acquired farm, and there her loathing for the Stanton bloodline and all those who had ruined her family seethed. Using the skills her mother had taught her, as well as her own natural knack with animals, she worked hard for the first time in her life, and before long that decrepit little farm was showing real promise. The size of their animals stunned the judges at that year's county fair, and even put to shame those animals that had been acquired from her family.

But it wasn't what Jacks wanted. Living well wasn't the revenge she was after. She wanted her animals back, her family out of prison, and the whole Stanton family buried under bovine backside. On the night of her eighteenth birthday, Jacks took off into the night, hooking up with some of her mother's old cattle rustling associates, and began to learn the ways of a very different trade…

Now, the happy-go-lucky bunny runs one of the largest cattle rustling operations in the west, though you wouldn't know just by looking at her. With her innocent face, diminutive frame and ever-present smile, Smiling Jacks presents herself as the sweetest little peach this side of Georgia. But many a business rival has fallen for that façade, underestimating her and quickly finding out that behind her smile is a devious mind and a bottomless sadism… and usually a large cow.

Jacks is one of the biggest headaches Tex has to deal with on a regular basis, the bunny being slippery enough that it's almost impossible to predict one of her raids until it's all over. In addition, her multiple ranches and outposts inside the labyrinthine Black Gut Gorge make her a very hard rabbit to pin down, especially with her love of tricks, traps and ambushes. But Texas would be unwise to leave her to her own devices. Jacks may have made it big but as far as she's concerned, the Kensington debt is still to be paid...

Fun fact: Smiling Jacks's gang is so successful that Jacks is the second wealthiest villain in Gold Springs, after Mayor Vivian. Given that she's a very wanted criminal however, that money is mostly hoarded away in what she likes to call her 'Weasel Annihilation Fund.' For a rainy day.
