I was sick of it doing that with my large pixels that have transparent backgrounds!
I found out that if you save stuff as a .gif then it gives you the option to upload a smaller preview image aswell
That way you can control what it'll look like ^__^

I've never had to save vectors as .gifs ;__;
I know there's an option on Photoshop though, to set how many colours you want in your .gif for better/worse quality
so me no-no, perhaps if you fiddle about with the settings you'll find something that looks spiffy?
Until then though, looks like ye' be cursed with a background of glooom!
