Growing up, I never got the chance to play Super Mario RPG. Actually, I didn't event know it existed until I was a teenager. I had been pining to play it for some time, and then finally at MAGfest I went ahead and bought it. Best purchase decision, I had no idea I'd love the game as much as I do.Croco art was inevitable, I'm quite fond of the little jerk.
I feel pretty... "eh" over this, but screw it. Uploading because my gallery lacks Mario fanart and LOOK PRETTY COLORS OOH.

I'm fairly certain that Super Mario RPG: Legend of the 7 Stars is my favorite JRPG of all time. The ability to block and get in extra hits and choose your battles keeps things far more interesting than some other ones.

I had trouble with him to at first.
Try leaving, and rentering the area to make the weaker enemies reset, and fight them first. Fighting some easier enemies first to get EXP points, and level up Mario & Mallow helps alot I discovered.
When you level 'em up, their attacks, defense, and other stats get stronger. (Also tip: Croco is quite vulnerable to Mario's Fire attacks.)

Croco is starting to grow on me actually, he's pretty funny as a mobster!

I really love your concept of Croco, you've really captured his speed, and mischeivous behaviour.
What would of been quite effective, is if you had storm clouds in the distance.
(Then again it depends on what moment this is.)
Since after Croco stole Mallows coin, Mallow started crying and a storm broke out. X33

Love this game. Sadly, I never got to play it on the SuperNintendo console.
Although, I could download it, and play on the Wii.
Also, I'm not so sure how far you are in the game.
But I love the fight against the Talking sword.
Also, the cutscenes when mario tries to explain to the counsillor about Princess Toadstools kidnapping.
That made me laugh, the amount of times he fell over XD

I agree, this game is a real gem easily missed. I never got to play it until around a few years ago when I decided I probably would never see a physical copy of it and... well.. 'Arrr, me mateys!' and whatnot. Great game, nevertheless. I thought Bowyer was one of the most annoying creatures of all time, as well! I mean, button canceling isn't exactly new for the series (pretty much all of the RPGs have it but BIS and Super Paper Mario), but this game has a higher difficulty than the rest of the RPG series so it was much more eyebrow-twinge-inducing.
