I’ll be debuting two brand new prints at Phoenix Comic Con on May 26th with the first being this Pikachu inspired by Jessica Nigiri along with this one: [link] Some of you may have seen her at conventions around the US sporting this cosplay which I thought was pretty cool and couldn’t pass the opportunity to draw.Some of you may know this costume well and if you noticed that the tail is sitting low it’s because I did that intentionally. On the actual costume her tail is set a little higher, actually attaching to the “belt” area and comes up her back a little, but for composition reasons I had to lower it and that’s the only reason it is not 100% accurate to Jessica’s actual Pikachu costume. I had played around with the placement of the tail a few times and everytime I had it set according to my reference it left a large area of negative space where the tail is presently sitting.
Can’t make it to Phoenix Con? No problem, I plan in releasing this (and this [link] ) for purchase online and at all conventions I attend this year once they are colored but please be patient while I set everything up for pricing and to start taking orders.

What's interesting about Jessica is that she has these cute cheeks that kind of fill the role of Pikachu's red spot cheeks without having to actually paint them on her! She's so adorable! Great job on this, Mike!

Totally. You're right she has those high cheek bones that fit this costume perfect. While I was drawing it I was thinking that most girls probably couldn't pull it off quite as well as her.
