Awww. Poets make some interesting imaginary friends, don't they? And they always have a feathered quill to spare.

Always! XD
Oh, recently I got myself a feathered quill to replace the one I'd tried to shape. It writes wonderfully, and I used it to outline Clive in the next HMS (page 24, which I have yet to publish). Quills are wonderful. I also love bamboo pens.
And with this piece, I'm so glad likes it. She and I have been conversing about poets and sharing some of our favorite pieces. I'm getting a better sense of Leopardi, since we never talk about him in English poetry, and I introduced her to John Keats.

I've been tempted to try quills for a while - along with a boatload of other drawing and writing tools. You just can't ever get enough, right?
Don't you love when these literary cultural exchanges happen? This reminds me of one time in a Linguistics class, when the prof read us a letter written by Leopardi to his sister: perks of 19th century Italian aside, it even had bits in English, and very good English at that!

SO TRUE! I got things I ain't even tried! [link]
To include a lot of Asiatic tools, like Japanese ink brushes and Chinese ink blocks. But the bamboo pen is a friend of mine, and I have done many pieces with it, to include a Chinese-style picture for my teacher.
Oh, wonderful! YES I do love when these literary exchanges happen. It's so funny, I remember my favorite book in my medieval dream vision class (an ENGLISH class) was Dante's Divina Commedia (Commedia Divina? I don't know the order). It was even funnier taking Italian class, because often I would write silly monologues to include such lines as "Mi sono pisciuta" or something like that. Anyway, I pissed myself. Things like that. Or "I should have destroyed all the evidence" or "I was planning to sacrifice this kidney to the goddess of the moon," none of these sentences I know how to form, not anymore. It's been far too long, and let's face it, they just don't say things like that in opera.

...Drooling forever on everything ink-related, and singing along because I just happen to like that song a lot.
"Avevo in mente di sacrificare questo rene alla dea della luna" - loling forever, but where is my set of sacrificial knives anyway... AHEM. Sometime ago, to practise some German writing I started off translating paragraphs from a history book, then it magically derailed into me writing down pseudo-philosophical angry soliloquies of characters either from that book, and for a story I plan to work on in the distant future. The paper sheet where I scribbled down all these goodies must still be around, buried somewhere in my bookshelves where I can't find it anymore. Or worse, I miiiight have used it to mark some page in a book from the library I've long since returned. D:

Lol ah I hope you didn't lose it! That sounds like an enthralling project. Maybe you could turn it into a play, with all those soliloquies.

I found it. It was inside a book, of course. I think I'll try to recycle some of the most salvageable lines for the characters in a story I want to write someday, Zeus knows when; it should be set in an alternate world whose language resembles German, so in my mind it just fits nicely. x)

Splendid! Che felice! XD Glad you found it.
ACH I wanted to invent something like city speak in Blade Runner, which would include a lot of Germanic and Chinese elements to English, and the letter C no longer exists, because in English it is rather useless. The "ch" sound is achieved with "kh."

Ooo that's a tough one....I can think of only a few...
Shakespeare (best writer ever! My mom actually bought me and her tickets to see "A midsummer night's dream"! )
The Beatles (came generations later but still...they're cool!)
George Washington (he was one of the US's founding fathers...also a war general)
Thomas Edison (I forgot what he invented XD)
Robert Louis Stevenson (he's not really a historical figure but you should know why I like this guy)
That's about it.

Shakespeare is awesome! (And best writer ever is often debated in the English department, because it might actually be true, at least in the English language. XD)
A Midsummer Night's Dream is SOOO funny!
The Beatles ARE cool! Nice. All good choices. Edison invented the light bulb.
R. L. Stevenson certainly counts as a historical figure, and that's awesome! I'd chill with him too. XD
For me, I'd like to hang with Mozart, R. L. Stevenson, Jonathan Swift, and though he's not a historical figure in that he's still alive, Peter Gabriel, as he has influenced me immensely. I could also chill with Tom Hulce because he's awesome and he played Mozart in Amadeus.

Thank you! I knew he invented something important
plus he invented two of my favorite literary characters
Darn! I forgot Mozart!

I just find it amazing that Beethoven was handed that travesty, "Oh, hey there, I know you're a composer and all so your hearing is really important to you, but um...yeah, you're gonna be deaf now, ciao," and he's like "NOPE." And wrote music ANYWAY. BAM.

Shibuki was based a little bit off of Puck.
Glad it was fun! I remember we read this in class and my teacher played Bottom. He's an actor, so he was incredible, and we performed the last scene with the hilarious "tragic" play and he was so funny. That was a great class.

OH.MY.GOD.
GOD.
MY. GOD.
...... ....... ......... *brain death* ........ ..... .....
this ... this doesn't made my day.. this made my LIFE.
I just .. I can't say properly what passed through my mind in the moment I saw this wonder.
My heart bumped with my chest so hard that it could have break out.
I simply can't believe my eyes.
Really, I don't find the words to say how much I LOVE this and I am not finding a way to thank you properly.
Giacomo is so sweet and lovely. You captured his celestial look, mirror of his soul. His hand is likely protective, as in my real life he IS my nest where I always find a friend who "understands" me.
Also, the fact that he is looking at my sheet makes him as my guardian angel.
Dante. OH MY DANTE the work you did with him is ... AMAZING! His pose, his look .... everything suits him perfectly. It seems he is making a dialogue with me, giving me some advice.
I love that hand you did, it's so elegant and rich of personality...
and finally me. I am so honored that your virtuous hand did this. You really captured my features.
You made me so happy that I feel the need of giving you a real hug.
If in my life I will find the words I was looking for today, I will tell you.
THANK YOU very very very much.
You are very talented, you are a great artist, and you really will have my gratitude forever.
Thank you
Samantha

I'm so glad you like it! I know these two are very important to you and I look forward to you showing some more Leopardi to me, as it is difficult to find English for him and my Italian is not that good. Again, so sorry this took so long, but I'm very glad you still like it.
