Description My first anthro sculpt, which is a lot harder to do than the feral ones. I’ve been working on her since February I think. But she was more of a side project that I came to when I got the chance.
If you’d like a sculpture, you can commission me here:

HELLO AGAIN I was not ignoring this it just took me some time to think of what would be the best things to use to start.
The best things I could think of the have ready were
- toothpicks (or needle tool if you can find one) for details
- a dotting tool for round edges when painting or smoothing clay
- Vaseline for smoothing and softening clay
- A large tube of white and black paint
- a range of color paints (because mixing kinda sucks and remade colors save a lot of time) Walmart has some cheap bottles that work well (:

You MAY want a primer. It helps when painting if your clay isn’t already white. I use Sculpey original Beige. It’s said spray doesn’t work well with polymer clay (because it dries sticky) but I haven’t had problems with using a primer by Krylon. I also use a satin spray finish by Deft at the very end to protect the paint and give it a nice shine.

That list above will give you a good start, if you really get into it then you can probably go forward and get the sprays.

If you get into designs with long limbs or thick areas you can use foil as a base and add clay around it to 1 save clay 2 provide a support and 3 have less clay that needs to bake all the way through.

I’ve been thinking about my answer for a while yet I still feel there’s more to cover. I think the more you make the more you’ll learn. If you have any questions along the way though feel free to ask!

I THOUGHT OF SOMETHING
if ever you find it hard to sculpt the entire piece because the clay is too soft and distorts too easily, you can pre bake areas you feel are complete and continue working. Recently the head of something I sculpted was finished but building the body would make it difficult not to mess up the progress I made on the head so I baked the head for 8 minutes and continued working. Another time I had to chop off the head of a sculpt because the weight was bringing it down and making the legs look stumpy. I pre baked the body and head then reattached them with clay again and let it bake completely. This comes in handy because holding together a complete sculpt can sometimes be a pain.

ANYWAYS that’s it! If you end up liking sculpting maybe we could trade sometime! Sprinkles would be super cute as a figurine :3c

that's awesome advice! I will def keep that in mind ^u^/

and thats funny you mention sprinkles! because I wanted to make sprinkles, I had this idea of
making her tail and ears out of actual fluffy material but just not sure what kind?? and maybe trying to find a maid outfit or make it out of barbie clothes?
But I have no experience making doll clothes lol! i watch youtubers make these cute custom dolls all the time and always wanted to make my own

Hmmm I'm thinking if you could color and shape some cotton balls maybe that could make the ears and tail?

Or you could needle felt them and glue them onto the doll

OR! Make the base shape out of clay and cover it in fluff like done here:

OR! Do what this lady did for the hair on her doll:

And her sprinkles would be glued on pieces of polymer clay.

As for the clothing, I dunno man xD

that's a whole other medium. I would maybe buy some like thrift clothes in the colors needed and try sewing those. That way you can control the size of the outfit and have lots of fabric to experiment with for cheap.
