Yeah… this actually happened. To be honest I had no idea that it could happen. In any case I thought it would make a funny comic strip, and now here we are. With you reading the authors comments… for some reason.
I had no idea that Rockruff would evolve into this, I thought that it would evolve into a bigger dog, but that only happens if you get Pokémon Sun, and I have moon. In all honesty, this is basically this generations Fanart fodder. I had to do a google images search when trying to find references and Jesus there are already so much fanart of this thing! And it’s only been 4 days since release (though I’m sure most of it was before the game was released). I don’t really care though, this is a pretty cool looking design anyhow, I can dig it.
In any case, it took too long to make this comic. Hopefully I can speed the process up a bit in the future. I really like doing these comics, and I like making people laugh.

yeah, that's always been a thing, your pokemon doesn't evolve if you lose the fight tho (at least I think so) but they will always evolve if you win the battle, even if they have fainted

i though it didn't... i mean, your pokemon starts the fight , faints and you switch to another one to finish the fight, does it still gets exp or was it an exp.share glitch?

Did you have the exp share on? That Might have done it

No, exp shar doesn't work with fainted Pokemon. Rockruff leveled up in the middle of battle. It also got exp from beating one the the two Pokemon I was up against. Then fainted after that. Once the battle was over, Rockruff evolved anyways because it had reached the proper requirements to evolve.
