Description
By the setting of the sun the day turns to night
a menacing black fills the now vacant sky
accompanied only by a sickly pale sphere
endeavoring to draw attention to itself

The orb's illumination brags of being brighter than all else
but in itself is a deception, for it does not truly give light.
An aura of false hope surrounds it nonetheless
and a wide crescent grin intends on convincing of its innocence

Only made as a lesser light, imposing reign over all,
its leprous blemishes show like bloodstains on white linen;
an impostor of purity in bare expanses
having its own dark concealments never to be uttered

It lies so clearly in the night among a heavenly sight,
as the same sight is mankind's desire to comprehend.
To comprehend is to remember that in all of nature's gifts
in chaos there is beauty, and in beauty there is life.
