DAT TITLE.This is what happens when I'm bored in math class, and the back of my math notebook looks criminally plain.
I've never attempted drawing anything that wasn't on white paper, so this was a huge experiment for me. that said, I'm actually pretty proud of this. my one issue is that I put meta knight close to the center, so I almost ran out of space to put his wings. XD
a lot of the cardboard got flaked off I my backpack, and the scanner killed the colors, so it doesn't look nearly as good as it did when I first finished it.
done with colored pencils on thin cardboard (don't know what to actually call it)

Oh gosh I hate drawing and coloring on cardboard but this looks awesome. I never did that in school cause the teacher would throw it away if I did. o-o my school was evil though... still is I'm sure.

it was actually pretty easy, it just took a lot of experimentation to get the colors right.

well, I had to figure out how to layer the colors on a medium other than paper. you have to press much harder, and I quickly found out you don't want to have a sharp pencil. for the wing membranes, i first put down the darker colors , then used a white pencil to blend them all together smoothly. whereas for the mask, i only used white for the highlights rather than blending it with the grey. then for the gloves i first put down a layer of white and added on the shadows last. and then for everything else, i used layers of blue and purple without any white so it had an interesting texture in comparison to the smoother sections.
in other words, a lot of trial and eror.

I personally love sculpting, although we are using stoneware which is a high-fire ceramic, and thus glazing is about as unpredictable as it gets. I can't tell you how many times I was really happy with a freshly sculpted piece only for the glaze to run everywhere during the final firing and completely ruin it.

It was pretty fun, although the other side of the cardboard is covered in my experimental coloring XD mainly you have to press really hard, but not so hard the layers of cardboard flake off.

a lot of the stuff I write on is on loose paper, as you need to turn it in very quickly. that said, I suspect I may need more notebooks soon as it was revealed that we will be recording vocabulary for the final in English.
