I guess I'm starting a bit of a series here.

Thinking back to Marvel vs. Capcom 3, when Capcom revealed the characters, they would always reveal characters who seemed to be paired in that they either had glaring similarities or were complete opposites.

I've always fantasized of Nintendo vs. Capcom, and not I sorta felt like doing clashes between characters who I felt could offset each other. Let's see what others think about this...

Here's the first one, and the obvious example of mascot vs. mascot: Mario vs. Ryu. These two are the posterboys for the company (I know some may argue that Megaman is the Capcom mascot, but Ryu is definitely the Capcom posterboy these days), are both the frontrunners in their respective crossover fighters (Mario in Smash and Ryu for pretty much every Capcom crossover fighter) and they both end up having fire powers.
