Description
Here's a new beast for Earth 50 million years henceMeet the Raptogs (Caniraptor sp.)
The Raptogs are the decendants of the domestic dogs of our time. They are the last of the canid family (Like wolves, foxes and dogs) and live in the mountain and polar ereas, all though they sometimes hunt in the lower forests. The Raptogs have evolved a body similar to the dromeosaurs (Dinosaurs like Velociraptor, Deinonychus and Dromeosaurus) with as difference that they are furry and the head is still mammal-like. Raptogs hunt in packs and feed on large herbivores. There are many different species of Raptogs, depending on the breed they evolved from. A pack of Raptogs are like modern day wolves led by an Alpha Male and Female. They use their hind claws to kill their prey, just like the Raptors did 100 million years earlier and communicate by howling.
I hope you guys like this one ^^

I'm not sure how to explain it any further, but when you look at how life on Earth has developed in the course of the millions of years, stranger things have occured.
For example the evolution of legs in fishes which gave them the abillity to walk on land during the Devonian. Ever wondered what went into their heads to decide to become land creatures while the land was already the domain of the arthropods.
And what possessed small carnivorous dinosaurs to evolve feathers and wings in order to fly. The skies were already the domain of the Pterosaurs.
You see....Evolution is a series of genetic "Accidents" that happen by chance. I never said this form of canine evolution will take place. I only said it's a possibillity this could occur. A benefit of a bipedal stance could be it would be able to take down larger prey and look out for larger predators

Fish developed legs and feet when forests starred to invade the Devonian landscape and their bones started to move appart and have less skin in between them to help them move about. That is why animals like Hyneria had eight tiny fingers, because it moved through water that was cluttered with dead vegitation. And the Devonian wasn't the time of the arthropods, they were more present in the sea at that time. The era of arthropod dominance was to come in the Carboniferous.
Not all carnivorous dinosaurs evolved feathers and it most certainly was not to screw around with the Pterosaurs. Pterosaurs also were only dominant in cliff areas or habitats where they could get a good glide.

I got to the idea of these strange evolution from the fact that dogs sometimes raise themselves to catch a frisbee or do a trick taught by their owners. Once dogs find out that standing on their hindlegs, freeing their frontlegs in the process, benefits in their search for food, they'll keep up this trend.

Bipedal doesn't explain why it has grow one large claw on each foot and traded out its sharp teeth for a beak-like structure.

Well this is an old pic and back then I wasn't able to draw a proper mammalian mouth. So it's actually not a beak, but a normal mammalian mouth.
The claw is an additional weapon that evolved over time

Very interesting evolution here; I never would've imagined that the descendants of canines would be dinosaur-like. You did a good job with the general details and the shape of the body. This animal looks more dinosaur than canine to me; nothing wrong with that at all. Your futuristic animals get more and more unique and creative every time.
