Just wanted to get this situated, it took much longer than it shoulda haha~ First time using Sai, but I think I really like it ;u;
anyways, this is an old design that I am repurposing since the rp he was from died v0v

Eyes|A soft sage green, like the pines of his namesake.
Paw Pads|A very dull pink, basically looks grey - same color as his nose and ears.
Scars|None visable despite his age - he treats himself quickly enough to prevent this nor has he had to fight as much himself.
Scent|Clean like a stream, sometimes a bit musky with herbs like sage or thyme.
Voice|Laurent - Fire Emblem Awakening (skip to 4:52)
Details|His ears are large and his tail a bit short.

An intellectual whose greatest prowest isn't in his claws or the very power of his bulk but the mysterious thoughts that lurk in his head, the ancient echoes from those he calls his family. Aspendream is a absent tom, his consciousness sometimes seemingly not all there, a possible trade off for his rich connection to StarClan, a relationship he prizes over all else. However he is quite attentive, sometimes sharper than most may give him credit for, and his knowledge over healing and other aspects of clan life are unmatched. It just may take some prodding for he is a private soul, only seeking out his leader when it is truly needed. But do not be afraid to chat up this senior tom, he is not senile and may just surprise you with his secret wit.

|Astute|- Like his name implies, Aspendream seems to always be floating away in some dream, his responses sometimes late and his eyes looking off as if lost. However this is the very opposite of his true mind, in fact this tom is quite perceptive, taking in the small details around him with a quick eye. But it can sometimes feel like 'someone else' is in the driver seat. He has a very strong connection to StarClan, and sometimes seeing small 'signs' trigger thoughts he cannot control, as if someone is speaking in his head. Despite these distractions however he is naturally sharp, and can still hold his focus.

|Cerebral|- Not only are his thoughts sometimes random and uncontrollable but they are also constant, inside that misty head is a battle of linguistics. He is always thinking about some manner or problem and may spend hours thinking through hundreds of solutions to fix a problem. This is a powerful trait for a medicine cat for he can think on a dime and will have planned modes of action even before the problem arrises. Because of this he is generally prepared and able to treat cats in dire situations.

|Exclusive|- Unfortunatly, sociability is not his strong suit. Even in a desperate situation Aspendream may not communicate effectively enough, and to those who do not know him he may seem cold and even a little crazy. It takes a while for this cat to open up, and even then he may only go to his leader, Flintstar, to discuss his visions. Aspendream feels alienated from the clan, simply because he sees the world in a different light, so whether his lack of friendship with other cats is out of fear of being rejected or elitism is unknown.

|Brusque|- When talking, Aspendream can be curt and demanding, expecting others to keep up with his flowing mind. He can become easily frustrated by those who do not understand him or question his thoughts, he defiantly has issues with being 'wrong'. This can also make training an apprentice an issue, for he may give up too soon trying to get the information across or get annoyed at their own lack of knowledge. Because of this he can also be described as highbrow yet impatient.

|Calm|- Aspendream gives off a serene aura that leaves his patients feeling restful and safe, making him appear more skillful in his work. Even when angered or frustrated he will simply walk away, not wanting to raise his voice on things he considers trivial. This can be considered a feat for voices are always interrupting his thoughts, telling him of the dangers to come. He goes with the flow of life and does not let hardship kill his attitude.

Healing|      |He can keep the patient calm as he operates, and like a chessmaster he has many solutions hypnotized before he even starts. This allows him to be a quick thinker, able to adapt in an emergency.
StarClan|     |It is as if he has walked across star pelt himself, Aspendream constantly is bombarded with the thoughts of StarClan cats, both good and bad.
Strength|     |He is a large cat so he naturally is built strong. However he is not trained and can't use this strength to it's fullest.
Speed|     |He is not a fast cat, for his bulk weighs him down and he is not trained.
Stamina|     | He is sometimes bogged down by his mind and can get tired easily
Agility|     | Not only is he not quick on his feet but he is also not fast enough to dodge. He is rather clumsy.
Swimming|     | He is an okay swimmer, his pelt is waterproof but may make him heavier.
Fighting|     |Only the most basic of training from his mentor, Aspenstream can not really hold his own and needs the support of the clan.
Cold Resist|     |His coat is soft and warm, even his toes are insulated. His fur is also water proof which keeps him dry despite the mist in his territory.
Heat Resist|     |He can quickly become over heated due to his thick fur.
Hearing|     |His large ears give him above average hearing sensitivity.
Balance|     |He is sturdy but not stable, his short tail does not completely balance him out and his climbing skills are lacking.
Sociability|     | He is too quiet and curt to effectively communicate with others.
Esteem|     |Being medicine cat, he is well known in his clan. However he needs to better connect with his clanmates.
Self Esteem|     | He can be a bit of a know it all, assuming himself to be right. However he sometimes rejects his thoughts, and feels lonely - being more connected to the dead rather than the living breathing world around him.

Backstory

|Childhood|
Born to his mother, Minnowstripe, during a cold leaf-bare, Aspenkit was the only one of his three brothers to survive the winter. All the streams turned to ice, and hunting was difficult in those times, so Minnowstripe did what she could, eating anything to prouduce milk for her single kit. As the frost thawed, spring slowly started to warm the misty land, and the only chill was of the dusk when the dew slept on the clans' pelts. Aspenkit was bright and attentive, a miracle considering the laborious conditions he was born into. He was a thriving soul and quickly took to playing with the other kits. However as the summer sun started to set, Minnowstripe noticed that her young one would often look lost, staring into the stars. As his time for apprenticeship came about, Aspenkit started to show more signs of absentmindedness, sometimes completely ignoring others and staring past them at things unseen. Concerned, Minnowstripe begged the current healer to look at him and discover why he acted so strangely. The young kit had no control over his actions and would sometimes run off into the night, always looking skyward for some answer. Alarmed by this, the healer, known as Brightleaf, spoke to StarClan in a dream who forbid the youngster from becoming a warrior. Heartbroken, Minnowstripe saw her son's future in the elder's den, and Aspendream himself was deeply depressed, feeling as if this fault of his had torn him from his dreams. As the kits around him grew older and became apprentices themselves, Aspenkit felt abandoned, and he called to StarClan for answers, why was he cursed? What did he do wrong? The answer came quietly, in a foggy dream... Aspenskit was surrounded by beautiful fresh herbs, all growing in abundance, and while he did not know their names he recognized the leaves and roots as tools Brightleaf had used on him. Suddenly the stars started to fall around him, each one hitting a different herb and making it glow. As the more plants shone, Aspenkit felt stronger until he himself lifted into the air, surrounded by the stars. When he woke up the sun was not yet risen in the sky, and Brightleaf was waiting for him.

|School Days|
As StarClan had shone, Aspenkit was to learn about herbs, healing, and in turn become the medicine cat apprentice. Despite his young age he was collected as he accepted his new name, a fire of determination in his eyes as he sought to prove himself to his clan, and even to his mother. Minnowstripe was proud of her son, blissful that he indeed did not end up in the elder's den so early - however, as he started his studies, his mother came down with a horrible chill, it was as if the very mist they were so comfortable in was eating her bones. This only made the tom work harder, doing his best and studying all he could so that he may save his mother. He learned quickly and with StarClan's help, was able to master Brightleaf's techniques. A year later his mother had been moved to the elder's den, she was young but her movements were stiff and her voice weak... Aspenpaw could not stand the pain in her eyes, so as a desperate plight he escaped to a neighboring clan's camp, seeking out their medicine cat for help. Indeed his mother would die soon, and the mentor told him of a single herb that could possibly heal her. He searched and searched, a moon passed and he could not find the darned thing. Finally a single sign from StarClan, the pointing of a robin's wing, lead him straight to a grove full of the herb. Rushing back he gave the plant to Brightleaf and together they worked with Minnowstripe. However, by then it was much too late, and his mother fell into a permanent coma. His heart heavy he stood vigil for his mother for two nights...

|Naming|
For his discovery of the herb and for risking it all to save his mother, Brightleaf felt it was time for Aspenpaw to receive his full name. He felt ready but was nervous, his failure in saving his mother leaving him both with depression and a uncertainty to his skill. Nonetheless he went ahead and shared tongues with StarClan... as if in a dream he felt weightless and saw the smiling face of his mother, her warm green eyes brimming with tears, they said their final goodbye and she spoke to him the chosen name... Aspendream. When he awoke Brightleaf was watching him carefully, when Aspendream asked what was wrong the older she-cat simply shook her head, her voice happy as she congratulated him. Together they returned home, he was finally a fully fledged medicine cat. In the coming years he worked with Brightleaf together and eventually his mentor moved to the elder's den, her age starting to take affect. Finally during a spring night, she passed on in her sleep, Aspendream mourned for his wonderful teacher but knew in his heart that he would speak to her again, for indeed, her voice rings inside him. His connection, he quickly discovered, was so strong that StarClan seemed to live in him, their thoughts interrupting his own and sometimes making him see the shadows of what once was. Despite this he lives as normally as he can, caring for his clan to the best of his ability.
