Description
The default Windows 8 tile for a software not downloaded from the store is awful. So, I made custom tiles for some of the common applications.Please mention in the comment if you would like a particular tile.

Do you play it? I tried the beta version and was very put off by it. I loved SimCity 4 and was looking forward to 5, but was very disappointed by it.

Hmm , they would more on my taste if they will be copletely metro meaning unicolor, white hspaes on colored background.
Ive start to metronize all the cool software icons out there. Ill make them systematically, releasing big pack for each software category. Ive started "bashfully" with 3D software field. They came out awesome and ultimate quality. Check them Im sure you will like them [link]

I admire your work and they DO look very attractive indeed. However, I'm not a big fan of white icons. I think they take away a very important aspect from an icon's design- it's colours. Nonetheless, some icons are better without colours and some can't be the same without colours...

Coming from XP and only a few months on Windows 7 primarily used for surfing the web and gaming, would a person like me enjoy Windows 8?? Seems it's built more towards social networking and instant weather??? /

Windows 8 is Windows 7 + more features. You can have your desktop and icons the way you had on 7 but with the added bonus of the Start screen.
I personally love Windows 8. You might hate start menu not being there (which I did), but dont worry, install 'Pokki'.
Games run just as good as Win7 and there's no compatibility issues. Moreover Windows 8 only consumes about 25% of my system memory whereas Win7 consumed 40%.
I would surely recommend it.
