Heyyy guess what's finally here! This is the kind of unofficial intro page into my potential comic Empathy in the Apocalypse.
In this page we are introduced to the hook and inciting incident to this story, that being the mysterious virus that has already been claiming new victims since an unfortunate patient zero.
Although you do not yet have the character names: Jack, Emma, Professor Armstead, Mo, and Jeremy are all heavily based on real people, and I was given their permission to do so. Professor Rind and Adam are based almost entirely on fiction.

The most nerve wracking thing about this piece was drawing the outside of Lauffman Dillard Community College (which will sometimes be referred to as the LD CC in story.)

I am aware and ashamed of some of the things that went wrong in this piece, namely line work, but I didn't want to kill myself on the hypothetical first page of a comic, so I'm letting it slide for now. Technique and style will likely evolve over time with this project.
