That awkward moment when you're not sure if you should feel embarrassed or proud.

This is for the people who thought I was born with the 'artist hands' or have 'natural talent'. No, I wasn't born with any talent, I've had to work through the years, wading through frustration, tears and mental breakdowns. There are even times where I'd draw till 3 in the morning. So please don't dismiss what I can do (or what any artist can do) as 'natural talent' or something I was born with. I can do what I do because I've worked for it. I hate the word "natural talent".

This is also for people who need inspiration, to look at my crappy art from all those tears ago and see how far you can go with hard work!

Guess I'll be updating this once a year! I can't wait to see what the next year brings! Gotta start work on backgrounds. orz

Notes:

By "drawing seriously" I really mean: Still drawing as a hobby, but actively trying to improve.
I hated using color pencils. So, I never used them for traditional art as a kid. Plus, the good kind costs way too much.
I'm using them now though, for my AP 2D Studio Art class and am starting to like it.
I'm also drawing in realism for that class, but I won't be posting them here since this meme will be focused on my anime art.
I looked at a lot of tutorials to learn.
Growing up, most of my art was monochrome or monochromatic. At least, when it came to my own designs. Color has been a concept I've struggled with since it's not something that comes naturally to me. I still have trouble with it even today.
I even dress in monochrome or monochromatic colors!
Unlike most Asian parents, my mum's actually very supportive of my love for art. Just as long as I don't draw anything erotic/indecent/yaoi/yuri and it doesn't interfere with my studies.
