I decided to draw Infinite, Doctor Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik's Dragon during the war in Sonic Forces, the video game that deserved to be greater.

I like this guy's design and I always enjoyed the concept of the character himself. He was a plundering thug with a whole squadron of his own kind (Jackals) and a fascination with barren, ravaged wastelands. Right from his earliest point of introduction, this guy is nuts, so he joins the Eggman Empire to see his ideal world take shape. When he loses his squadron and realizes his limits, he accepts help from the Phantom Ruby to surpass his peak and evolve into something beyond all mortals. It was a refreshing break from what we usually get for beastly-looking villains in Sonic the Hedgehog video games: gods, monsters and all-powerful robots of varying origins, shapes and sizes.

When it comes to his look, they went all out with this freaky creature of evil. He seems powerful and ghastly with that mask. It was on the right track.

However, Infinite fell short in the execution. His motivation for becoming the Phantom Ruby-powered superbeing felt rushed and embarrassingly shallow, his power and competence as a ne'er-do-well-turned-warmongering villain wasn't shown very well, we don't get to know what makes a ruined planet so enticing to him, and as the right-hand man to Doctor Robotnik, the guy who conquered all there is, he's never seen asserting his dominance enough to make his evil personality memorable or fun to watch.

If there's a Sonic villain who could use some reworking, it's this one. The pieces of an entertaining bad guy are present, but they didn't click together properly.

I put Neo Metal Sonic in the top-right corner expressing how he doesn't care much for Infinite. I mean, who was the awesome, secret backup weapon here?

I don't plan on putting Infinite in Sonic Synthesis.
