My entry for current contest! The idea is to have Peach cosplaying as someone. I didn't have any ideas for a while, but I finally decided on Paula from Earthbound. They both wear a pink dress, and they both use a frying pan for a weapon! I couldn't decide if I wanted to go a Super Mario RPG route with the picture (since Peach has a frying pan weapon in that game) or a Super Smash Bros. Brawl route.

As you can see, I went the Brawl route! I wanted to have Peach smashing someone with the frying pan in battle, and I wanted to have Ness there, wondering if Peach really is Paula. I decided to use Lucas, since he's the other Mother character in the game. He's sort of a crybaby, so he was the perfect character to have running away from Peach! Since I had the Mother characters, I decided to have the picture take place on the Onett stage. And of course, how could I not include the always adorable Mr. Saturn? I know that Paula's skirt on her dress is actually pretty straight, but this pose was just screaming for a swishing dress! Also, Ness is wearing his alternate Mr. Saturn shirt outfit. Sadly, the Mr. Saturn on the shirt is not visible... ;_;

The title is in reference to when you get a critical hit in Earthbound. It was actually supposed to be "Cosplay SMAAAASH!!", but I couldn't include the exclamation points.

I'm sad I had to rush it at the end, and that the final product doesn't have as much of a feel of motion as the sketch did, but I had a blast working on this, and I will try to draw more action-packed pictures in the future!
